General Venue Information:
- The theater is located on the 12-acre site of a 19th-century lime kiln and quarry.
- We have two stages, "The Bowl," and "The Kiln."
- The Bowl is a natural amphitheater with permanent bench seating for approximately 350 guests and standing room for up to 300 additional guests.
- The Kiln is a large, open space with a 40' x 160' tent. Seating in The Kiln will vary from show to show; folding chairs, standing room, etc.
Q: Which stage at Lime Kiln will be open this year?
A : Most of our events will take place in The Bowl. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved to The Kiln.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Performances will take place on-site rain or shine. A new (in 2018) retractable covering over The Bowl stage will allow us to hold events in light rain/drizzle. Heavy rain will mean moving the event to The Kiln, under a tent. Guests are encouraged to stay tuned to our website and Facebook pages for specific show updates.
Q: Is there standing room or are all shows seated?
A: In the Bowl, there are about 350 bench seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis; all other space is standing room. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets, though space can get tight during our SOLD OUT events.
In the Kiln, seating will vary from show to show. Due to space constraints, however, outside chairs are not allowed.

Q: What is your food and alcohol policy?
A: JJ's Meat Shak will join us as our new food vendor in 2019. We are excited to offer beer from Devils Backbone Brewing Company, including our very own Lime Kiln Pale Ale, as well as wine from Rockbridge Vineyard. You are not allowed to bring outside food or drinks into the lobby or performance areas, however, you are welcome to tailgate in the parking areas. Drink tickets can be purchased inside the venue and are good for only that event. Drink tickets cannot be used at future events.
Q: Are pets allowed at shows?
A: Pets are not allowed unless otherwise noted.
Q: Is there parking on site?
A: Yes, there is on-site parking for 300+ vehicles, which accommodates the parking needs for most events.
Q: Is the venue handicapped accessible?
A: Yes, however, with sloped seating and mulched pathways, non-motorized wheelchair access can be tricky. Handicap permit parking spaces are available near the Box Office for those who request them. We will do our best to help guests get to their seats.
Q: What is the ticket pricing for children?
A: Children 5 and under get in free. Children 6 and over require a ticket.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: Refunds are accepted up to 30 days before an event. If you would like a refund, or to pass your tickets to someone else, you may login to Eventbrite and request a refund, or change the names associated with your tickets.
